New work

At the heart of the Projections programme is a commitment to enabling bold new work – from the annual Projections Commissions, new work for mainstream cinema audiences, to partnership projects around new long-form films or exhibitions.

Projections Commissions

The Projections Commissions invite artists to make short films for cinema. The films are screened before mainstream features at Tyneside Cinema and at partner venues across the UK. This year’s commissioned artists are James Richards, Sophio Medoidze, Evan Ifekoya, and Susie Green & Simon Bayliss. Find out more about the work, including new writing around the films and artist interviews, here.
